Bowser's Low Percent Ledge Getup Attack Regrab

Bowser has pretty much inarguably the best getup attack from ledge in the entire game, reaching incredibly far into the stage to knock people down with insanely fast speed, and also being able to reverse hit opponents back off of the stage which can have numerous edgeguarding applications. In order to properly utilize this tool though, acting out of it can be incredibly important. The two most commonly applicable ways of regrabbing the ledge after using a getup attack are doing a quick wavedash fastfall to the ledge, or performing a Fortress Hog with his Uspecial.

For both variations, you will perform the getup attack on the 9th frame after you grab ledge, immediately following your mandatory cliffcatch frames you must go through each time you grab it. The getup attack is active on the 8th frame, and fully invincible through until the 34th frame of the animation, then you're actionable after the 54th frame of the animation. On the 55th frame after you perform the getup attack, or on the 63rd frame from the start of the technique as a whole, you will begin either your jump for your wavedash to ledge, or your Uspecial.

For the Uspecial regrab, begin drifting fully in the direction towards ledge as soon as you've input the attack. On the 11th frame after inputting the attack, begin tilting the stick at a 45 degree angle so that you are not travelling too quickly to grab ledge and SD. This is the latest frame you can input the drift change without dying from the tech. Since you are a human performing the tech, though, and the inconsistencies with controller polling on analog inputs, odds are you won't be able to get full drift on the second frame of the Uspecial, meaning that you actually could have an extra frame or two (never more than that) depending on how quick you are to input that drift. Then, 32 frames after you've input the Uspecial, you will begin the mandatory cliffcatch frames of another ledgehog.

If you want to regrab the ledge with a wavedash, you will input your jump on the 55th frame after you input your getup attack from the ledge. Then, after your 8 frame jumpsquat, you need to input the airdodge down and towards the edge of the stage. Assuming you won't get a perfect wavedash, instead just an average long-distance one (halfway between the full horizontal and the 45 degree downwards notches), you will become airborne after 6 frames of wavedash landing lag. You are not able to input the fastfall to ledge until after 2 airborne frames, after which you will grab ledge after an additional 2 frames.

The Uspecial regrab cycle totals to 94 frames, and the wavedash regrab cycle totals to 80 frames. For edgeguarding purposes, it is usually going to be best to wavedash to ledge rather than do a Uspecial to get to ledge because it is faster, but for on-stage purposes, the applications are a bit more ambiguous. Your action after a getup attack against an on-stage opponent depends on a multitude of variables, so it is up to you as a player to decide what to do, be it one of these two options, or a different option out of the grounded state.

Please note that all frame data will likely be slightly different on Yoshi's story due to the slant of the stage's edges.
